Hi Chantal
I would say that if you were to buy a BI14, you would be making a good
purchase. I have used mine every day since buying it about a year ago. From my
brief experience of using the Orbit, I think the arrangement of the keys is
ergonomically better and you have the not inconsiderable advantage of cursor
routing. To be honest, I haven't used the Notes Sync facility a great deal and
I very rarely use my Braille display on anything other than my iPhone or iPad.
If accessing disbrf is going to be of importance to you, then the BI14 won't be
the display for you. You would probably be better looking at the latest
generation of Focus displays.
One other advantage over the Orbit is that you get a nice case. The display is
also much quieter and its change rate is much faster.

Hi all,
firstly many thanks to everyone for your help in the past.
Secondly, as I am not having much luck with my orbit Reader it keeps breaking.
As a result I am looking into getting a back up display which will be more
rebust and lighter than apex which I am curently using.
I am looking at the bi14 display as a consequence I rang Humanware today but I
am still unclear regarding the notes synk feature I still want to take notes
out and about and somehow synk to pc either via gmail or dropbox and use Jaws
to read them once they are synked as well as keeping them on the unit. Equally
I would very much like to have the ability to copy them into ms word. I have
spoken to humanware and had some people say no you can't do it however in the
manual it says you can.
Can anyone advise me. Furthermore if anyone has one of these what do you think
of it is it like the apex but smaller and was it a good purchase?
MANY thanks once again
All the best
