Hi Peter,

It does block out the beep, but the way I got round this is to connect it
using the external speaker socket directly to my mixing desk. Now I can
control the volume of it using a fader, instead of pounding on its up/down
buttons.

You can buy very cheap mixers from Maplin for this kind of stuff.

If you use it via the Scart, it switches off the TV audio while it is
talking. I don't like this, so I hooked it up using its speaker output
socket, and now I have both.

All the best

Steve

No, it will only read the name of channel and programme as you move on to
the channel. Even the programme synopsis doesn't read the programme name so
you have to move off the channel then back on it I think. I'm trying to
figure out if it announces if programmes are audio described but I don't
think it does. Frustratingly I think the speech also blocks out the bleep to

let us know a programme is audio described.
