Hi, Its not in the startup folder. How do I check if its a service?

Try seeing if it is in your startup folder or if it is running as a service, as either of these things will stop you deleting the folder under Program Files.

Hi all, When I recently did a full system scan for viruses using Norton Internet Security 2004 I was given a warning that 6 files were at risk. All the files were concerned with Nav helper which seems to be a program to help with browsing for web sites on the internet.
I don't remember installing this program and want to get rid of it. According to the help file that came with the program I only need to use the add remove programs dialogue from control pannel. I did this and in the process of uninstalling I was told that windows couldn't remove it as it appeared to have already been removed and asked me if I wanted to remove the entery from the add remove programs list. I said yes. I rebooted the computer and looked in the add remove programs list. The program was gone from their but was still in the programs sub folder of my hard drive.
I tried to delete the folder that contained the two files which related to this program but was told that access to it was denied.
Can anyone advise me on how to get rid of this program and also if I am at risk as Norton suggests?
