But passable is subjective, passable to me may be excellent to someone else. Only you'll be able to judge. Menus certainly are. I haven't used the audio diary, and doubt I will. I use Sonority to set the time and date, and have set it to sync automatically when I connect the device. , Regarding setting this using voice commands, I found recognition to be poor. Not many people understand what I'm saying, so why should the DM-5? Euphony settings alter the way the recorder behaves when in playback mode, e.g. wide stereo effect. There is no wind-gag which I know of for the DM-5, if recording in even slightly windy conditions, you'll need to use an external mic with a wind-gag fitted. Good luck with the recorder, if you're looking for something which is accessible, which produces passable recordings, and that you can carry with you anywhere, you'll like it. I'm going to buy olympus dm5 in a month, but i have few questions. How is the sonority accessible with jaws? For why is the audio diary and is it somehow accessible (by the voice guidance or by voice command)? How you set time and date from the device? With voice command, can you give example how you do it? You go on setting time and date and what you say, it was quite badly shown in the manual. What is the euphony setting in the menu? Do you use and if yes what kind of wind protection for the mices.
