Hi Alan,
you need to use some OCR software such as Kurzweil or Open Book or some other 
alternative OCR software to scan the image of the PDF into text.

  Hi List members,first up A happy new year to all!.I have just downloaded a 
multi page operating instruction Manual for a domestic Appliance ,unfortunatly 
only available in,P d F format, and jaws advises me that the file is empty 
apparently as it is just an image file.,could someone advise me please how I 
can convert the above imformation into my computer .all suggestions much
