Hi Joe,

Three things happen here that may cause this.

1. The maps from different suppliers, are quite different as to whether
they are up-to-date or not.

2. The most important factor is how the sat nav systems are set up. For
example, you can optimise for distance, time, traffic info, etc. If the two
sat nav systems were set up differently, that could account for it.

3. The way the systems calculate a route, the route calculation algorythms,
can vary dramatically.

Therefore, no one Sat Nav system is the same as the others.

I hope this helps.

All the best

Subject: [access-uk] conflicting directions was wayfinder again

Hello,

A friend of mine went away with his brother. They both had sat nav in their
respective cars. Both satelite systems gave different directions to the
same destination. Not just once, but repeatedly. I wonder why? where is
the flaw?
Regards,

Joe Paton
