hi,

I've turned it on again and it seems okay so far, it’s likely to come back
again though isn’t it?

Hi. Most likely explanation is the fans inside need oiling. The colder the
room, the worst the sound may be. You could still carry on usinng it, but if it
continues to sound like a cat being strangled, I would definitely have the fans
oiled. If you are based in the UK, there are many computer shops that could
undertake the work, or I would be more than happy to take a look.

Cheers,

Mo.

hi,

i had a scary experience a few minutes ago. i put on the computer, (i hadn't
used it all day), and it started making a loud noise, it sounded as if the hard
drive was spinning really fast. i checked the cd drives and no cd was inside.
jaws started but the noise still carried on, so i shut down the computer but
even after it was off, the noise carried on. only when i turned the mains
switch off did it stop. i waited a few minutes and taking my courage in my
hands turned on the computer. it seems okay. but what is wrong? is it on it’s
last legs? i have only had it 4 four years, stupidly i didn’t renew the
warranty which ran out earlier in the year. the computer isn’t likely to
explode or anything is it if the noise comes back. what should i do now?

thanks, Husna
