Have not read all the responses to you on the list but the ones i've seen so
far i agree with.
A couple of points for you though to consider:
* An option is to go for a bean-to-cup machine rather than any of the pod
based systems;
* The advantage of pod-based solutions is that they tend to be low cost
upfront but have a relatively high cost per pod. The bean-to-cup options
though are higher cost upfront, but you get the benefit of being able to use
what-ever beans you want from who-ever you want to buy them from;
* The more advanced bean-to-cup machines really are excellent if you are in
to your coffee. They allow you to make capuccino, latte, espresso, etc,
especially easy if they come with a milk jug;
* My favourite is the delonghi range - each coffee type has a single button
allied to it. So if you want capuccino you press the capuccino button, etc.
The esam series is very accessible, dead easy to use, has distinct tactile
buttons, and, even though you don't know why there is an error beep, it is
only normally down to either no water or full grounds container. There is
one in the range to avoid which is entirely touchscreen based.
I'm some-one who takes it all quite seriously i'm afraid including roasting
beans - bean to cup has been my preference because of that.
