Hi

Yes I thought of the ipad myself for a selfish reason, she
can then help me to learn my ipad but you are right nothing
is that robust and when she uses it almost 24/7 they are
bound to wear out. Next to print books, mum loves her books,
the kindle I think was the best gift my sister and I gave to
her. Mum reads loads of books.

Regards

Adrien

Hi Adrian.

No tablet is totally robust, however getting a good case for
any tablet you
buy is a very good investment. Being a fan of Apple
hardware, I'd say an
iPad Mini with retina display which would give her a
multiverse of reading
options including Kindle to choose from.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Subject: [access-uk] an alternative to the kindle

Hi

My mum's second kindle has just packed up, it is out of
warranty, she is a heavy user, I am thinking because now
there are so many tablets out there, what would be a good
combination, something that will last more than a year, she
has worn out 2 kindles in 2.5 years, she reads a lot. Where
ever she goes, the kindle is with her. I have suggested that
she gets something harder wearing than another kindle.

Regards

Adrien
