The six dot is roughly the same size as a braille notetaker with the
standard Perkins keys plus a space bar and a round button in the middle
which cuts the label for you after you have brailed it. At the rear of the
unit is a compartment for the labels, we recommend using the labels supplied
by the manufacturer as we have experienced issues when using labels from
other sources. It produces the Label as you braille it and as Mo says if you
dont know braille you can plug a USB qwerty keyboard into it. It runs on
either battery or mains. All the units Ive sold to date have all been to
private users despite the cost, I know one customer uses the unit very
heavily as they keep repeat buying large quantities of labels and they also
seem to be particularly popular among the deaf blind or dual sensory loss
community. The cost is as usual down to the high cost of development and the
limited market it is sold into especially in Europe. Please do email me off

Thanks for sharing this. I have never looked at this website before but saw
an item called the 6 dot labeller but was horrified by the price. I am
presuming it isnt meant for domestic use? Has anyone seen it and, if so,
could they describe it and explain why it is so expensive.
