worked like a charm, thanks very much.  When I upgraded to AVG8, the item
for AVG 7.5 was also still there.  When I had a look inside the sub-menu it
said empty so I did the same with that too.  Cheers,

If you are using Windows XP, focus on the item you want to get rid of, press
the context menu key, cursor down to delete and press enter.
