Just to add that you can get a taskbar jump list with the keyboard in two ways. First is by pressing the context menu key when focus in on the taskbar icon. Note that Shift + F10, which in many situations is the same as pressing the context menu key, does not produce a jump list. Second way is to press Alt + WindowsKey + the number of the icon on the taskbar starting from the left, so for the first icon it's Alt + WindowsKey + 1 and so on. Reason I mention all this is I've noticed some new Dell laptops don't have a context menu key which means only the second option is available.Steve -----Original Message-----From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Chris HallsworthSent: 15 July 2009 08:47 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Windows 7 pre-order I do. Basically you are only prompted if a third party program, like aninstallation program, tries to perform some action. Windows programs, on the other hand, you won't be prompted. Also, in Vista, you had to listen to the whole prompt and see if there's a continue button (alt+c) or an allow button (alt+a). This won't be the case as regardless of the prompt it's always yes button (alt+y). With the jump lits feature, you right click an application, pinned or unpinned, on the taskbar, and you can, for example, view the lastten web pages you've visited, or view the last ten word documents you've worked on. So hope this helps. -- Chris Hallsworth e-mail: christopherh40@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx MSN: ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxx Skype: chrishallsworth7266----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Pearson" <carol.pearson29@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, July 15, 2009 8:37 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Windows 7 pre-orderDo you have experience of the improved user account control and/or the jump list? These sound interesting. -- Carol carol.pearson29@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ---- Original Message ---- From: "Chris Hallsworth" <christopherh40@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, July 15, 2009 8:16 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Windows 7 pre-orderYeah sure. You can find out more at www.windows7.com. The main improvements are very fast shutdown and bootup times; more responsive than even XP; fully compatible with most modern hardware and software; improved search; improved user account control; improved accessibility in some areas, i.e. network and sharing centre; pin/unpin applications from the taskbar; jump lists; and that may be it. -- Chris Hallsworth e-mail: christopherh40@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx MSN: ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxx Skype: chrishallsworth7266 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Pearson" <carol.pearson29@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, July 15, 2009 5:08 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Windows 7 pre-orderSo, why shell out for Windows 7?
