It is, look for file history. If you have previous Windows 7 backups use Windows 7 file recovery to restore those files.

For me, the advantages of an iOS or Android device are universal updates, more choice, size and cost. The advantages of a dedicated note-taker are quick access to features like word processing, one unit instead of two to carry around, and better battery life. I like a mix of both to be honest, perhaps some old habits die hard?
