Hi Amro,

I can see you do your research <Smile>.

The script has already been written. It is called Word Accent, and it is on
Version 1.5.

Get it from http://www.gwmicro.com/sc

All the best

Steve

If that is the only way to do it in WE then you guys should think about
getting one of the gurus to start scripting! In Jaws it's Insert 4 and you
have all the special characters there in a dialog to choose from in any
application.

Cheers,

Amro

What special characters are you looking for? Word and Outlook have the
facility to create certain accented characters within them using two
keystrokes, one to define the accent and the second to choose the letter to
take the accent. For example, to create é, press Ctrl + apostrophe and then
the letter e. Nothing happens after the first keystroke, which determines
the accent, and then the second keystroke, which must follow the first
immediately, i.e. without any other key being pressed first, gets the
accent.

Not many applications seem to have this facility, and as I don't use
accented characters very often, I use Word or Outlook to create them and
then cut and paste them into other applications.

I've got a list of the characters you can create this way; I'll hunt it down
if you want.

Hi,

How do you folks get special characters? With JFW I used to hit Ins 4 and
select them from an extensive list.

I've tried using the Windows Character Map but whilst it would read the
Chars to me I couldn't insert them into any edit fields.

Thanks,

Barry.
