Agreed, Wendy. At least it did set, even if it took longer than 20 minutes ... and I don't know how long.

George Many thanks. A very interesting site, and it looks as if Carol's problemwas due to low battery power. It does say it takes quite a few minutes forthe clock to change after inserting new batteries. Ours hasserved us wellfor four years now, without even changing the batteries. We were notover-surprised when it didn't change today and figuredthat probably thebattery strength needed to be greater to acquire theatomic signal thaneven to use speech ... so we changed batteries - andwaited! No, shedidn't change ... and hadn't when we left our home 20minutes later!Thankfully, when we arrived home, we found that Freda (forthat's hername) had put herself right - at last! We're a bit puzzled though at the time this took, since weremember, whenshe was new, that it didn't take long for her to acquirethe correctinformation. Anyone any theories as to why it should take so long toacquire thesignal? I know this used to be transmitted from Rugby butthat thischanged a few years back. Is it just because the signalis further awayfrom us now that it takes so long, or is it onlytransmitted at certaintimes in a day? Where does it come from now? I'm just curious so would appreciate any answers thatanyone can give.(Incidentally, she's called Freda because our friend firstintroduced usto the atomic clock with his before they became availablefor VI's; andhe affectionately called his Fritz!) Now, less of this waffle and over to you ...
