I’ve tried all sorts, and there doesn’t appear to be a solution, other than
switching voice-over off. I’ve tried focussing away from the time on the play
button, I’ve tried locking the Iphone but still it keeps interrupting books and
podcasts by constantly telling me the time.

Does this happen with the screen locked?
I always listen with the screen locked and don’t get this issue. Having said
that, I haven’t updated IOS for some time so it may be a feature of a recent
IOS software update. Worth reporting to audible as they will hopefully get a
fix out for it fairly quickly.

For me it happens with both easy reader and audible, I have to turn speech off,
otherwise voice over keeps saying the time every few seconds. I think if you
don’t rewind for a long while the problem eventually goes away for that session.

The weird thing is that it doesn’t seem to happen with Easyreader, although the
volume frequently momentarily fades as the Iphone is doing something or other,
but with the Audible boks and my podcasts, the only solution is to switch
Voiceover off.
