Carol.  Although I'm not Gordon, I'd guess he's advocating Eudora 
, Pegasus or some other mail client.  After all, its well known 
that most virus script writers target security wholes in Outlook 
Express/OUtlook, if only because they are the email clients so 
many use.

Guess that if you can face the learning curve, which I haven't as 
yet, it could be a worthwhile change, and not just from the 
security view point.  Some say that Eudora, for example, has 
better management within it for large numbers of messages.

imho, dump outlook distress and stick to a grown up application. 
Makes
life a lot simpler.

I am using XP home currently and my E-mail client is Outlook 
Express 6.

I currently have my account set up in Outlook XP as well but only

purpose of backing up my E-mails.

Now I want to use the appointments feature in Outlook to store on 
the
computer appointments I am making in advance of their date, e.g.,
Hospital
appointments made a month or so in advance.  Could I use this 
function
