The fan is probably producing a massive amount of interference which is why the
TV and the DAB reception is interrupted. You can get this effect with turning
on or off an electrical switch nearby as well. You may try relocating the fan
(or source of interference) with respect to the radio or TV.

Subject: [access-uk] USB Fan and Digital Radio

  Hi

My son and I bought a small fan that plugs into the USB port and give off a
nice cooling draft. It was only £6 from pC World.

However we noticed at my son's house that when he turned on the fan it
  messed up his tV reception.

I have just switched mine on and it mutes or turns off my Pure digital
  radio.

Any ideas why this is happening?

I was going to take it to work tomorrrow but a bit worried If I might bring
down the whole computer system, lol.

  Regards

  Graham
