Hi there,

If you are using Jaws 13 beta have you tried the new Convenient OCR. I don’t
know that much about it yet but may be worth trying.

Subject: [access-uk] Twitter and following people

Hi,

when you are viewing someone’s profile on twitter and want to follow them, the
“follow” link is not exactly accessible. You can’t simply press enter on the
link as jaws does not see it as a clickable link. In jaws 12 or even 13 beta on
my XP system I could though rout pc to jaws cursor and then left click on
“follow” link and it would achieve what I wish, most of the time, this was
using, as I said jaws 12 or 13, win XP under IE8. Ironically now, on windows 7,
under IE9 jaws 12 or 13 this does not seem to be possible any more. In fact I
remember in “what’s new” notes for jaws 13 they say that virtual cursor
navigation in IE 9 is improved, but if anything I think it’s worse. Virtual
cursor can not at all find the “follow” link or anything useful really, it even
sort of reads stuff from desktop or start menu or other windows even if the IE
window is maximised. So: 1. Is there something I can do/need to change in order
to make this possible again.
2. Is there an easy way to follow people through twitter website with jaws and
IE9.

Of course we can follow people through qwitter, but since the client is not
being developed any more, I think it’s important to find alternative ways of
doing things we can do with qwitter in case it ever stops working.
