[access-uk] Total Recorder issue

Hi all

Recent discussion on this reminds me of an issue with it on another machine.
When booting, the master volume is reduced to 51 per cent.
Also at boot, I have Outlook to start.
On bringing up the volume control from the system tray, it shuts down until
I have closed Outlook.

1.  how can I re-configure the machine to start at my preferred higher
volume?
2. can anyone shed any light on the volume control and Outlook conflict?
