Hello all.
To use Phantom Drive:
1. Launch the Phantom Drive Starter application.
2. Click the Phantom Creator button.
3. Click the create button. This will create a virtual blank disk and it
will be in the virtual recorder, ready for you to use.
4. Back in the starter application, click the exit button.
5. The next thing is to burn data to your virtual recorder. You do this
exactly like you would with a physical CD/DVD in a regular recorder.
When it comes to the process of burning, make sure the burning
application is using the virtual recorder, and not your regular one.
6. When the burn is complete, chances are your new disk will be ejected.
As you are using a virtual recorder, the drive will appear as empty.
7. Now, relaunch the starter application.
8. This time, choose insert an existing image. Click the Phantom Image
button.
9. Locate the image, which will have a "phi" extension.
10. You can now use your media player or CD ripper to rip the tracks on
the disk, copy data from the disk, etc, just like you would with a
physical CD/DVD.
11. If you intend to rip tracks, ensure the application is using the
virtual recorder and not your regular one.
So, in short, you use Phantom Drive to read and write CDs/DVDs just as
you would with reading from and writing to physical CD/DVD in a regular
recorder. The difference here is the recorder is imitated through
software, Phantom Drive in this case, rather than actual physical
hardware. Also note that an image here is a file representing a CD/DVD,
and not a picture of something.
