I won't be getting it just yet, I've blown most of my disposable income this
month on the £439 iPhone SE, which I'm totally in love with, so whether and
when I will be re-joining the Android train wagon remains to be seen,

Just looking over the specs for the Nexus 5X now, can't help thinking it's a little low par for the price. Since this is the Android device I've got my money on at the moment, having sold my Moto, should I plump for this or go with something like the Moto X Force? Opinion would be appreciated, thanks.

If you want to be on the bleeding edge, then definitely get a Nexus phone.
Google commission manufacturers to make them and they are always on the latest Android. Motorola are not bad, but if updates concern you, avoid Samsung.

I'll join the list you mention. The first step is to get a phone with Android on. The inclusive Android list does not seem very up-to-date on this matter. You Mention in another post about the 'fragmented' nature of phones adopting the newest releases of Android. Is there a trend, I mean do certain makers adopt the newest release before others? Who is likely to have the new releases in May this year, on there phones first?
