RNIB does operate a repair service for this product. If you contact
Kevin Ground our Spares and Repairs Officer on 01733 375020 or
kevin.ground@xxxxxxxxxxx he can advise on the service. Kevin can
usually provide a loan player if needed, although this may not be a
Scholar.
Thanks
Alison

Steve,

In that case I've not got any other suggestions other than trying a
laser
lens cleaner disc just in case the lens is dirty.

Sorry I can't help more.

Jamie

Jamie,

I've tried a mixture of different CDs and nothing happens. All I did
was
change one CD for another and then it went quiet.

Steve,

I don't know who is the dealer now but it used to be RNIB as far as I
know.

Have you tried more than one disc in the unit - sometimes a disc or the
contents of the disc can be corrupt and this cause the unit to not
operate
properly. Also, I've noted in the past that sometimes with titles that
have
a lot of headings, the Scholar takes for ever to get going.

Jamie

Hello List,

I'm hoping some of you might be able to help. I know many of you are
using
Victor Streams and the like however, it might seem like something that
should be in a museum but my Telex Skollar which I've had for just over
a
year which does just fine. Sadly last night after inserting a CD it no
longer plays. It reads most of the Skollar's serial number and then
nothing
more happens. I don't know whether I've altered something without
realising
it like a setting or, has something drastic gone wrong. Is there a UK
agent
for such a gadget these days.

Steve
