It tells you how far you have ran and at what your average speed is. I
check it after I have done the run not during it. It even tells you how
many steps you have done. I have the Nike one which has a Nike run app on
it which I haven't tried out yet. I like the pool swim as you can put in
the length of the pool and then it counts the lengths as I always forget.
It is expensive but now I have it I wouldn't want to be without it.
I had a fitbit before the watch which I quite liked but when it stopped
charging my Mother bought me the Apple watch and I much prefer that.
There is a 30 days money back guarantee on Apple products so I guess you
could try one and see if you like it.

I use my apple watch for all physical exercise, even swimming. It even counts how many times I walk up flights of stairs. Lets you know how many callories you have worked off. It's good but expensive. Lucky I got mine for Christmas from my Mum.

i'm also a keen runner with a garmin Forerunner 220 . As far as i can make
out apart from being able to wear the Apple watch on your wrist it's no
different to running with your phone which would use the same aps as the
watch. If you get any useful information on this subject off list then

This may be one of those "longshot" threads but I@m wondering if
anyone on the list knows of a decent sportswatch that has voice
feedback?
I'm a keen runner and currently have a garmin Forerunner 220 which
gives me tactile feedback when it's on, when I've ran a mile etc but
has no speech feedback on it. I've done some digging around and to
date there doesn't seem to be a sports watch with gps other than an
Apple watch that has voice feedback on it.
As much as I'm all for Apple I've resisted buying an Apple watch as
many runners I've spoken too don't rate them for running.
Anyone else out there got any comments on using an Apple watch for
running, cycling etc or know of any other options?
