It certainly used to be though I have not done it for about 10 years, and was probably using the now obsolete Office XP when I had to do this in work. . The only complication was , from memory if you used non uniform tables with merged cells , in which case Excel may make a protest. All I used to do was select the whole table in Word, press control c to copy and then switch to Excel and paste into a spreadsheet.


Copying in the other direction worked then as well.

Have you tried this out? Does this not work any more?
