If it's a Windows 98 PC check in device manager you can see the card reader,
you may need to install the card reader's drivers in this case.

        Hi

Unable to get this PC to recognise card.

Place card in drive, light comes on, open software but the pc does not find
the images on the card.

The card is 5 years old is it possible that it is not compatible, it does
say smart media on it and it does fit the drive.
