Hi Steve,
Yes, exactly that.
You need to record from BBC1 HD if you have it. HD always has audio
description for me, and an added benefit is the sound quality is better.

Hi All,
Firstly, many many thanks Bary for your instructions on forcing the new
firmware update for the Sky Q box. I did this and now have the voice
guidance working. First impressions are that it is fantastic though not
completely without some querks. However, in the interest of accessibility,
I can live with them! Now, to be honest, I've not really used our Sky Q
mainly because I've just been frustrated with the level of access. Now
however, that is not the case. What I've noticed is that if I record
something on BBC 1, I don't get audio description where I do on ITV. AD is
switched on on the box ok and, as I say, I get it on other channels
including ITV. Any ideas? Could it be something to do with the region?
