[access-uk] Shut down problem

When I tell my computer to shut down it freezes on the screen saying
"shutting down" and doesn't switch off at all. I have to press and
hold the power button to get it to switch off. Any suggestions as to
what might be wrong, or how I can find out what is going on? I'm
running windows XP and ZoomText 9. I haven't loaded anything new to
my knowledge since the problem started, and it's been doing it for
about a week.
