perhaps doing a repair might help! it'd be better than a reinstall if it worked!

.
.Hi all,
.For reasons with which I won't bore you, I've recently gone back to
.V4.51 of Jaws here at work. I'm having some difficulty in globally
.saving settings, in particular the key echo one. Despite the fact that
.I've saved words as a global change in the Configs Manager, whenever I
.open a new window, including an email form or a word doc, it reverts to
.characters. Can anyone help?
.
.Cheers now.
.
.Ian
