Hi Mo,
For recording, the most accessible and best recorder I know on the market, is
the Olympus LS-P4. There are better ones, such as the LS100, but they lack a
bit in terms of accessibility, the P4 has almost full speech access and superb
microphones. Sarah could then play her music back on it, by plugging it into a
big speaker, with 3.5MM jack input.
I hope this helps. Commercial Interest Declared: We do sell the Olympus range.
All the best
Steve

Subject: [access-uk] Recording and playing music, advice wanted for musician
please
Hello Everyone.
A friend of mine sent me the following message, perhaps some of you can help?
Has anyone got any idea what equipment she could purchase to make life easier?
As we mentioned before, I am a professional singer and looking for ways to
make life easier as a performer and as a recording artist. I am looking for
recording equipment which records professional quality but it also totally
accessible for a blind person which is portable to be able to record gigs and
record at home including being able to multi-track. I am also looking for
something to be able to play backing tracks in large venues as I can use a CD
player in care homes and nursing homes but can't work a big PA system. I know
that many venues have their own PA systems and something can be bluetuthed and
Andrew being the technical one is more than willing to take over the technical
side so I can concentrate on the singing but neither of us have any vision at
all. Any ideas would be very useful but we can't give a budget as we don't
know yet what the general going rate is for this kind of thing but any
investment in my career is useful.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Many thanks and best wishes.
Sarah and Andrew Wade.
