if your friend checks out the website:

under the section labelled EQUIPMENT FOR TALKING NEWSPAPERS he will find
a small unit called crystal which is a fm radio and has slots for both USB
and SD memory sticks.
it also has a bookmark feature to resume from where you left off in a book.
visually impaired people can buy them exempt from vat.
