I heard on the grapevine that there may be another solution coming out soon.

Also, note that the new BBC iPlayer will allow you to watch audio described 
tv on the web and that will be coming out soon - it's a free download.

And Sky and Virgin Media also has audio description - though I think Virgin 
still hasn't got too many channels with the service.

Ideally we need one of the new second generation freeview boxes - BT Vision, 
Tiscali TV (formerly Home Choice), or the new one planned from Sky that will 
allow paid for services - to be turned into accessible ones.
