Hi Ibrahim, Well I have done as you suggested and I don't have a record tab on the tab line, only general and hardware. Maybe this is because it's an xp machine, as it's present on my vista lap top. Have you any other ideas or as anyone on the list any suggestions as to what to try now? Thanks. Jim. ----- Original Message ----- From: Ibrahim Gucukoglu To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, June 11, 2009 6:44 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Problem with rom drive. Hi Jim. If you've had cd and dvd burning software on your computer and removed it, its possible that windows native cd writing support has been disabled which would explain this problem. You need to do the following to enable windows cd writing capability: Firstly, go in to my computer and press alt plus enter on your dvd or cd rewriter drive. Next, find the recording tab and ensure that the box to enable cd recording is checked. Press OK, you may be required to restart your system but you should find that you can now access the cd drive when recordable disks are inserted. All the best, Ibrahim. ----- Original Message ----- From: jim To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, June 11, 2009 6:23 PM Subject: [access-uk] Problem with rom drive. Hi all, I have the following problem on a desk top pc. When I put a blank cd or dvd in the rom drive, the computer doesn't recognize that the drive is present and the following message appears, "D drive not accessible, incorrect function.". However, when I put a cd or dvd in the drive with data on them it shows up in the pop up window that allows you to explore your files on the disk. I can do a copy cd to cd but not from the cd to the computer or the other way. Anyone have any suggestions on what my pc rom drive problem is and whether it can be fixed? Thanks. Jim.
