Apart from the cost of such a product, I would be looking at the over
all technical and aftersales support for it if I were in the market to
purchase one. Bear this in mind!

Hi all,
I am in the market for a new tv. I have one downstairs for general use,
but need something which is easy to use for recording of programmes and
the playing of dvds. Most modern televisions and particularly dvd
players and recorders can be confusing, so I am looking at the Portset.
I know there is no tv screen, but anyone who is in my bedroom apart from
myself is unlikely to be watching the tv. I know the cost is rather
high, but it does seem easy to use. I wonder if anyone who has a media
centre and regularly uses it would comment for me on how easy it is to
set up and use, and whether they think it generally to be a good
product.
I note that you can get various sizes of hard drive, starting at 40 GB,
and wonder if this would be sufficient for my needs, bearing in mind
that I will be recording only sound, no pictures.
