Wendy, yes, you can always use the headphone socket to output to speakers,
or your hi fi system or whatever.

What is the model number of this Philips DVD player, and how much was it
please? -

Andy

|I have now bought the Philips portable DVD player which was recommended to
| me on this list, and many thanks for that. It is a lovely little unit,
and
| plays all my DVD's fine. I got it because some DVD's wouldn't play on my
| PC, see my other message on this topic.
|
| The little speakers in the unit are very good, but you don't get a lot of
| bass, and I was wondering whether I could use an external speaker plugged
| into the headphone jack. Perhaps this should be a pair of speakers to get
| the stereo effect. I don't have anything suitable here at the moment, so
| any suggestions would be much appreciated.
