Hi Sue,

An idea just came to me which might solve the problem. Go to the ribbon and
choose 'folder', scroll down to 'favorites' and press the right arrow key to
open the submenu. If the 'show in favorites is checked, uncheck it and see
if that makes a difference.

Hi Sue,

The indexing feature allows for faster searches, but turn it off by all
means and see how it works, you can always turn it on again.

Hi John.

I'm here again.

I didn't shut up for very long did I/

I'm thinking about turning the index feature off. I love the search
facility, but it's still not searching up to date for me.

Would you recommend doing this, or how else could I get the searches to find
the most recent items instead of going up to yesterday or the day before.

Sue.

Hi Sue,

Sorry you are still having problems with the 'sent' folder, not sure what
would prevent all items showing, but will give it some thought.

Meanwhile, hold down control and shift and press b to display your contacts
list.

Hi John.

Thanks for all of your help.

I've done everything you suggested, and I still can't see all of my sent
items.

I'm just going to have to live with it now I think.

I've spent hours today playing around with Outlook.

Thanks for the very clear and easy to follow instructions.

Much appreciated.

One more thing before I go, then I'll shut up, for a while anyway!

Regarding contacts, how do you display them? Business cards, list, I'm not
sure which is best.

Sue.

Hi Sue,

You should be able to see all your sent items if you followed the directions
in my previous email.

Anyway, assuming that my 2 emails crossed with your reply, I will take a
punt at the search problem. Outlook defaults to 'search this folder only',
so I generally change this to 'search all folders'. To do this, open the
'options menu' by holding down the 'alt' key and pressing 'f', then cursor
down to 'options' and press enter. The options dialog box should then open.

The focus will be on the 'general' tab, so cursor down until you get to
search', about six down arrows, and then tab twice to the dialog box options
to change search. The first option is actually a button to change the
indexing options, whether you want to go in to this and change these is up
to you. A radio button is select by tabbing twice from the tabs which will
be set to 'current folder'. Press the down arrow once to choose 'all
folders'. If you want to change any of the other items then just tab to them
and choose the option you want. When finished tab to the 'OK' button and
press enter. The search will now search all folders and, presumably all
days/items.

Thanks.

I've turned the navigation pane back on again after realising what you've
said.

I love the search facility, but when I search for an email from a particular
sender, it only searches up to Tuesday which isn't much help to me. I think
it's a great feature, but I wish it would search up to date. I get a
message telling me that indexing is taking place.

I can't see all of my sent items in the sent items list either.

Sue.

Hi Sue,

Turning the 'to do' and 'reading' panes off is what I do, so yes, in my
opinion a good idea. However, I retain the 'navigation' option as I can then
shift f6 directly to the folders and go to the one I want to view by
cursoring down or up and pressing enter on the folder.

Hi.

In Outlook 2010, I've turned the navigation pane, the reading pane and the
to do bar off.

Is this a good idea?

I'm using it with Jaws 13.

Any other tips about making my Outlook experience easier, are most welcome!

Sue.
