Funny one this. Both Cindy and I have 2003 on our laptops, and contacts we
reply to automatically put in our addressbooks. We've looked around, but
can't find the setting which made this happen. Curious eh!

Derek,

1. I don't think there is a way to automatically add people to the address
book. Here is one procedure that should work:

With the message open, use Shift + Tab to navigate to the From field .
When you reach the field, the cursor will be at the end of the sender's
details, which will consist of at least an e-mail address, and possibly also
a "display as" name. Press LeftArrow to move to the beginning of these
details and press the Applications key or Shift + F10 to open a context
menu. The third option on the context menu is Add to Contacts.
Press Enter on this option to open the new contact dialogue box with the
following fields filled in:

Full name - if a display as name is given, that is used. If not the part of
the mail address that precedes the @ symbol is used.

File As - this is taken from the full name entry.

E-mail - taken to be the sender's e-mail address as it appears on the
message you have received.

Display as - this will be the display as name or, if none was given, the
full e-mail address.

Focus is in the Full Name edit box, from where you may Tab to the other
fields to fill them in or amend what Outlook has entered.

If you're using JAWS, Alt + M can be used to give a list of the edit fields.
You can then use first letter navigation to get to the email field and
pressing Enter takes focus directly to that field.

Press Alt + S to save the new contact, or Escape to cancel the new contact -
if the latter, you will need to confirm that you don't want to keep the
contact. Focus returns to the original e-mail, where it is still in the
sender's details header.

2. If your internet connection is on, then Outlook sends a completed message
straight away - and by pressing Control + Enter you are saying it's
completed. Here are a couple of ways you can delay sending a
message:

Before starting to create any messages, open the File menu and press Enter
on "work offline". All messages will then sit in the Outbox until you go
back to the File menu and press Enter on "work offline" again.

If you want to set specific times to send one or more messages, while you're
writing a message, you can open the View menu and choose Options.
Tab to the "do not deliver before" checkbox and check it. There will then be
two more controls following the checkbox in which you can specify the date
and time at which you want the message sent. This method allows you to set
specific times for each message individually.
