It almost sounds like you have an autorun file in the root.
Try right clicking on the drive in My Computer and selecting "Open".
If that fails, try holding down the shift key and double-click on the
drive. (This usually stops autorun)

Hi
Can anyone help? our USB 1 terabite USB drive has suddenly decided to
play up. according to the properties it has 111 GB used space and 820
GB unused space. All our music and pictures plus other stuff is on
this drive but all it displays when opened is autorun. 1: does this
mean the drive is dead, 2. can anything be done to recover any
content?
