Sounds like you've redefined one of the gestures.
Go into Settings, then Talkback, then manage Gestures.
By the way, you don't have 7.2, if you did, you'd be ahead of the Google
beta testers. You probably have 7.11.

Hello
Am trying to get used to the Pixel with Nougat on it. Looking at the Android
help I see that the left then up gesture should activate the overview
button. What actually happens is that I cycle through the different reading
options - character, word etc. What is happening please?
