Do you think Sight and Sound and Computer Services sell the Polaris
for the same price? Is it considerably cheaper to get the 20 cells?
I don't understand how to get text files on to these machines.
I really like my Focus 40 but don''t think I can add text books to
read and can't as easily search for text in books.

Of the note-takers doing the rounds, I would recommend the Hims
Polaris in
either 20 or 32-35ll models. They offer a lot of features such as
Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Email client, Word processor, Internet browser,
media player, and the ability to leave the proprietary suite of
applications and delve into Android, albeit that it is running
Lollipop. But it is a nice machine and, in my humble view, far better
than HumanWare's BrailleNote Touch. I'm not going to start a war over
that though, it is only my view, feel free to get demos of both and see
As regards payment options, these machines are really expensive, so
you
may wish to look at payment plans which HumanWare offers on the Touch,
and Sight and Sound and Computer Room Services offer on the Hims Polaris
I have a Polaris Mini which is the 20-35ll version, and I really find
it meets my needs because of portability and features.

Some of you may think, that since I sent back the Orbit Reader, this

an odd request for information but whilst being in a literary group
for a week, I realise that I would very much like to have some kind of
NoteTaker that I can obviously make notes on but also add books too that
in braille and search for passages by way of key words.
I used the BrailleSense this afternoon, an older version and I guess

is the kind of thing I need. I do not need it to connect to my
iPhone, I will still use my 40 but I don't believe I can add text
books to read in braille and certainly cannot quickly search for text.
Am I right in thinking that Humanware enable purchase of some
equipment
on a pay monthly basis?
Any suggestions of what I might buy, with an idea of what the
