Hi Damon,

His name is John Childs, and I believe was something to do with the Norwich
Society For The Blind, but may be wrong on that one.

All the best

Steve

Who does that Cobolt deep male voice anyway? He sounds like a butler. Bit
old fashioned.

Hi,

Lol! ..... and why is it that all, or most of, equipment for blind people
insist on having a fanfare to announce everything?

BING, BONG, THE TIME IS.......!!

Or a totally annoying tune to signify the switching on/off of the equipment!

Kindest,

Mike

Indeed it is. Has a nice male voice that isn't too much in your face
with the perpetual: "turning off in five seconds". (smile).

Hi Mike

There is an alternative to the Cobolt talking tape. If you
Google
for Vox talking tape measure you will find it.

I bought one a couple of years ago and it's still working
accurately
as I use it in my woodworking workshop. It resembles one
made by bosch which
used to have an LCD display . Best thing is that it does
not speak
continuously, only when you press the buttons to speak
with or without the
case. Also it only requires a single AA battery.

I don't know how much they cost now, but I bought mine for
about
£55.

Hope that helps

Darren.
