Hi, I'm reposting as I realised the model I mentioned was a cable router which is no good for me. I notice from list trafic that Linksys seems to be a reccomended make of router for accessibility. I'm looking for my first router but still want a wired connection, that seems easy to find. Is there anything I should know before buying a router?
I have a Speed Touch USB modem which seemed to start making my phone line crackle - don't laugh, it is true. I Googled it and it seems I'm by no means on my own. Well I bought a very cheap modem which I couldn't set up on my own and struggled with, so now I'm having success off and on with the Speed Touch modem again. I'm hoping I can get up and running quite quick with no sighted assistance, or very limited help anyway as I'm the only real computer user in the house. I'm likely to get a Mac Book when they are updated later this month so it would be handy to have one less thing to worry about by then when I do the switch.
