Ray,
you may be right about script writing being a business, and good on the guys, but the point Peter and myself is the overall cost of the finished article, which is then passed on to the blind community as a whole, of which the majority are still on a fixed income, and find it very difficult to purchase the software itself, never mind scripts to help them access the software on their computer systems.
I'm sure Peter like myself does not mind paying a reasonable amount of cash to be able to use the already inflated cost of specialised software.

Well Billie and Peter, yes maybe the asking price for the Itunes scripts is a bit high. Then again, as businessmen Brian and T&T are bound to treat this as much as a business opportunity as a service to Ipoders.

Of course, if you go the route of using RedChair's software, then you'll pay there too. Which brings me back to the basis of my argument: Software such as Itunes should be more screen reader usable to start with.

Peter, totally agree with all you say, and before you all jump on us. As
Visually Impaired people we are not looking for something for nothing. We
are willing to pay for anything we get, but some of the guys that are
creating these scripts are going way over the top, when it comes to pricing.
For an instance, take a look at the Caketalking scripts for Sonar. Okay,
there's a tutorial thrown in with them, but I think the cost of the
Caketalking scripts is a bit too much.

Isn't £30 a lot of money for a script? That's the equivalent of a hardcover
novel which has taken the author the best part of 2 years to complete. I'm
not saying a guy should not make a quid or two on a script, but £30 per
script was hardly a labour of love.
