Hi Mandy,
I think what you're talking about is the RNIB in your pocket.  It's based on
a Samsung phone but is controlled by voice only.  It's linked up to the RNIB
overdrive books and newspapers and is mainly used for reading what's
available there.  If your friend wants to read national newspapers or audio
books from RNIB overdrive then it would be useful.  If not, then it's maybe
not worth it.
