[access-uk] Re: If you use the Truecall Callblocker, the BT 8600 DECT with Truecall built-in might be of interest at £45

My apologies to Steve; he is right - there IS a search on his website,
and he does indeed sell a good range of VI-friendly Truecall products,
but there's a little problem with one of the widgets in the right hand
sidebar and the page flow is all messed up, so it "falls off" the
bottom of the main page and the widgets (including search) continue
below what looks like it is the natural end of the page.

This won't be apparent to a screenreader user as the flow without css
is still OK, but visually it doesn't look right - it might be the
duplication of div ID's "widget" and "widget-title-two".

Jonathan.

Ah, OK Steve. Thanks for the feedback. Good to know.

I thought I remembered that you sold the TrueCall, so I did actually check
your website before treading on your toes as it were.

But I didn't find it there. Have you thought about having a search facility
for the store part?  (Or maybe I missed something!).

Send me a private email if you want to continue the store search part of it!

Hi,

Naturally as a reseller of trueCall VI, I tested it, and it is nowhere near
as accessible.

You can't for example, accessibly access your block list.  You can't remove
blocked numbers without sighted assistance.  You can't change any parameters
without sight.

So no, basically the only thing that talks, is the block message to callers
and the caller ID.

Just thought I'd put that out there.

trueCall VI is still a great option and will attach to any phone.

All the best

Steve

The Truecall seems to be a popular topic of discussion on this list.

I notice a small price war going on with the BT 8600 DECT answering machine
and handset which can be currently picked up for under £50, which says it
is, quote:

"powered by truecall's award winning technology. Also block 100 per cent of
nuisance calls with BT's Call Guardian - block up to 1000 numbers".

Has anyone test this from an accessibility point of view?

Here are a couple of places selling it at this price - I'm not recommending
any, just linking!
