Valerie,

I think the page is coded badly, making it very tricky to use, but not quite
inaccessible.

When I tried buying something from AudioGO, after I had entered my payment
details, I went to my Download library and found the title I'd purchased. On
screen there is what looks like a download button after the title, but JAWS and
NVDA both call it "link graphic false". You have to activate this link to
produce another two options - you can use their download manager or download a
zipped version of the book. Both of these options are activated with links. The
link for the zipped versions is given as "link graphic download", which is the
one I used.

The problem is, using the keyboard to activate these links in the usual way
didn't work for me, and I ended up going round and round in circles. What did
work was when I got my keyboard focus onto the link, then routed the JAWS
cursor to it and did a left mouse button click.

So, once I'd found the link immediately after my book title, I routed the JAWS
cursor to it and did a left mouse click. If you're using a full size keyboard
with a number pad this is Insert + NumPad minus followed by NumPad slash. I'm
using a laptop so I did CapsLock + LeftBracket and then CapsLock + 8.

The second lot of options is on what looks like a floating dialogue, but I had
to change back to the virtual cursor - that's NumPad plus for a full size
keyboard or CapsLock + SemiColon on a laptop - and then move to the bottom of
the page with Control + End. That put me on the download button I needed, so I
then had tp repeat the routing the JAWS cursor to this area and doing another
left mouse click.

What a pain. I'm going to talk to some colleagues to see if we can get them to
put their page right. In the meantime, Valerie, if you find the above too much
hassle, feel free to email me off-list at steve.griffiths@xxxxxxxxxxx with a
phone number and I can ring you to talk it through. However, I'm going home in
about 10 minutes and won't be back at work until Tuesday, I'm afraid.

Steve

Hi John.

I've tried both your suggestions but no joy I'm afraid. Actually, it's a
button I'm looking for, not a link, and the only button I can find on this
particular page is a search button. It's all very disappointing but I'm
determined not to give up. Thanks anyway.

Valerie.

Hi Valerie,

You could try the 'links list' function in JAWS to see if that picks up the
download link. Press and hold down the 'insert' (JAWS key desktop), or 'caps'
(JAWS key laptop) and press F7. A list of links are then provided which you can
scroll down. Alternatively, when on the download page, try the Convenient OCR
function, hold down the JAWS key and press spacebar and then w. It may be that
the download link is a graphic and has not been labelled, but the Convenient
OCR function should pick it up.

Hi.

I’m wondering if anyone out there has tried downloading books etc. from
audiogo.co.uk. I only found out about this website recently and decided to
subscribe to it. I bought the download version of a radio drama yesterday,
but when I came to download it there seemed to be no download link or
button. I rang the Company and the lady I spoke to said there was a
download button but obviously JAWS isn’t seeing it. I’m using JAWS 13 and
IE 9. Is there any way round this? Any help would be appreciated.
