Hi,

Not sure if any other VI people use this, but I've always used a USB DVBT stick for the Telly.

It's a small dongle where ya plug the arial into one end and the other into your computer.

Most of the TV software is pretty crap as far as blind accessibility is concerned, but Windows Media Center works just fine.

I know WMC was discontinued with Windows 10, but some third party has tweaked it and made it work with windows 10.

EPG, everything is pretty much accessible, although NVDA comes out better than jaws.

I just load  up WMC, press ctrl+g for the EPG, then I can eitehr press the number of the channel or arrow down through the listings and choose what I want.

One major downfall though, is you can't get audio description.

The audio described channel is there but there is no way of streaming both at the same time.

The only way i can think of is recording it, extracting both audio streams from the main file and mixing them using some audio software like goldwave or soundforge.

I'm no expert but i think the lack of AD is more of a software issue then the hardware itself.

Bobby

Hi again Peter.

I believe that all of what is listed is described, hence the title at the top of the page.

Good luck with it but don't hold your breath as I'm paying over £50 each month for all the shit I'm getting from SKY.  Often there is more described shows on Freeview but I'm locked up in a contract with SKY for the next 14 months!

Very best wishes.

Thanks. I can find my way around here. How do you tell if something has AD
though? For instance I believe Casualty has AD but I couldn't see that
indicated.

Can anybody suggest an easily accessible web site for Freeview listings
please?
