Hi Peter,
There is a select all option but that will obviously select all the files it
has found regardless of the folder. You can get Recuva to start in a specific
folder but if the folder you want to recover was at the top level of your hard
drive then it will pick everything up within the drive.
That option on backups/mirrors does have it uses but is a pain in this scenario.

Unfortunately it is a folder with sub-folders containing two thousand odd
files. Is there any way of checking the whole list without selecting files
individually?
I was actually using Karen's replicate to back-up but had forgotten that I had
the option to delete folders in the destination drive if they did not exist in
the source drive.

I don't think that Recuva will allow a folder recover, I doubt you would get
this without having used a full backup/cloning piece of software to back the
folder up.
Recuva lists the folder where it has found files to recover, you can order the
results by that folder and then select each item in it. I know that might take
a fair bit of time if there were many files in the folder but I think that is
your best option.
There are other recovery products out there but you will have same with most as
folders are not really physical objects on a hard disk, more likely signposts.

Rather stupidly I managed to delete a whole and rather large folder which was
being backed up to an external drive. I have used recuva in the past but cannot
see how to use it to recover a complete folder. Can anybody give me
instructions please or suggest software that will do the job.
