Hi Eleanor,

Once you’ve checked “Different First Page, and pressed OK, go to page 2 of the
document and insert your header.
The header should now appear on all subsequent pages, just not the first page.

HTH.

Well Ian I did find this, different first page is ticked but I did not know how
to proceed from there to make it clear while the others retained the header.

  Hi Eleanor,

You need to look at the “Page Set Up” dialogue. I can’t recall which menu it
is in with Office 2003 as I’m using 2010.

When the dialogue is first displayed, you should be in the Margins tab.

Press Control+Tab once and you should get settings for paper size,
orientation, etc.

Press Control+Tab a second time and you should be in the “Layout” tab.

Tab through the dialogue and look for the following check boxes:

  Headers and footers, Different odd and even;
Headers and footers, Different first page.

  Hope that helps.

  Ian

Hi All, I want to put Headers in, that is not a problem, what I want is for
the first page not to have headers as it is a front cover. Any ideas on this
one please?

  Eleanor
