What version of Windows are you using? You could try searching from the start 
menu for backup and restore. From there you should be able to work out if there 
are backups being made.

Hi. I didn’t set it to create a backup. How do I check as I will delete any 
backup that may have been created without my knowledge.

One possible thing that might be taking up space are copies of backups. Is 
your laptop setup to make backups when you update and does it keep multiple 
copies of those backups? That might explain what has happened with all the 
space.

Hi  since I have bought this laptop! My available storage space has dropped 
to 2 GB from a to 8GB   Are usually run disk cleanup every day but I still 
can't understand what is taking up this extra storage  I haven't downloaded
